When running mIRCStats and/or RSSLogger on a computer running Avast Antivirus, you might get a warning message "Static analysis finds the file suspicious". I don't know their reason for this, there's no virus or anything (files are reported clean when analyzed with Avast).

(There's a lot of discussion about this feature blocking also many other completely clean and legit programs, see http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=97462.0)

After this message, Avast runs the application inside a "sandbox" which means that the settings the program writes to files and system registry will be deleted when the program is closed. You need to edit the settings again every time you run any of the sandboxed programs.

In the warning window you can select "Open normally next time", but for some reason this selection is not always saved by Avast. If this happens, you can manually prevent any files being sandboxed by adding them to exclusion list like this:

Exclude Trusted files from being run in the Avast Sandbox

#1. Open Avast User interface from its tray icon

#2. Click on Additional Protection to expand, for AutoSandbox click on Settings on the right-pane

#3. Now browse for that program executable and add it, do the same for files you want to exclude from Avast Auto Sandboxing.
